2017 Nissan Pathfinder vs. 2016 Nissan Pathfinder
What do you do when you have a midsize SUV that has enough space for more than 2,250 liters of cargo, can tow 2.5 tons and still gets great gas mileage? Well, though it seems difficult to top that powerful blend of performance, space and savings, for an encore we've added even more power and towing so that the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder (available in the fall of 2016) is quite an improvement over an already-impressive 2016 Nissan Pathfinder. On the inside, you'll also find some refinements and improvements with the technology in the 2017 model.
It seems like only yesterday we were telling you how the 2016 Pathfinder's 260 HP that bursts screaming out of a 3.5-liter engine is impressive when paired with the ability to save money to the tune of 20 mpg city and 27 mpg highway. For 2017 models, the fuel economy remains the same, but the Pathfinder gets a tune-up, with the 3.5L engine now a Direct Injection Gasoline specimen which ramps the power up nearly 10 percent, from 260 HP in 2016 to an impressive 284 HP. This extra power extends to the torque, which is also up in 2017 to 259 lb.-ft. Take this enhanced powertrain and add in the reinforcements to the 2017 Pathfinder's construction, and you can now tow 20 percent more in 2017, up to a class-leading 6,000 pounds.
