2013 Nissan Versa at Bob Rohrman Arlington Nissan

It's always fun for us here at Bob Rohrman Arlington Nissan when a model gets a generational upgrade, but we think the complete overhaul that the 2013 Nissan Versa sedan underwent for this model year is one of our best in quite a while. Not only is the exterior design sleeker and more modern, but the car has also been reconfigured to allow more interior and cargo space, as well as better fuel efficiency. There is a hatchback version of the Versa, of course.

The new sedan, however, is where we'd like to focus our attention for now since it's the one with all the great new features and specs. Underneath the hood is a smaller 1.6-liter engine that pumps out 109 horsepower, but losing the extra weight was a big reason engineers were able to finagle a highly respectable estimated 33 MPG average out of the car. It's all so absolutely new, and so absolutely improved.

As far as trims are concerned, the sedan comes in three trim levels: the S, SV, and SL. Think of the S as the base model, with 15-inch wheels, air-conditioning, CD player and auxiliary audio jack highlighting the list of standard features there.

The SV, meanwhile, adds many of the other essential add-ons like cruise control, full power accessories, keyless entry, and nicer upholstery. There's also a Convenience package available here that tacks on Bluetooth and an iPod interface. The top-of-the-line SL includes all the aforementioned goodies, but ads a navigation system and satellite radio with a touchscreen interface.

It's actually an extremely safe vehicle, too. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety put the Versa through their battery of crash tests, including frontal-offset, side impact, and roof strength tests, and the '13 Versa scored top marks of "Good" in all three. That earned it the IIHS's coveted distinction of Top Safety Pick, and with the NHTSA also awarding the car an overall four-star safety rating, we feel pretty good marketing this as a family vehicle that can protect all sorts of drivers and passengers. Regardless of body style, the Versa comes standard equipped with antilock brakes, brake assist, traction and stability control, and myriad airbags.

The 2013 Nissan Versa is a car on the rise, with very positive reviews of the great new design, a back seat spacious enough to seat adults comfortably, and great fuel economy. These are the kinds of things buyers look for in a smaller sedan, and as a result this new Versa has proven to be one of the most competitive models in its class. We here at Bob Rohrman Arlington Nissan are very proud of that fact, and we'd love for you to make a visit to our dealership sometime soon to test drive this little beauty. We have a feeling you'll really like what you see.
